Egg Retrieval Procedure

Services we offer

Our Services are offered to clients Nationwide and Internationally. We work with a variety of clients and will not discriminate against racial background, marital status or sexual orientation.

Our agency represents numerous donors and surrogates of all ethnic backgrounds.

Donors will be required to fast the night before the procedure. On the morning of the procedure donors will be required to arrive at the clinic 1-2 hours prior to the procedure. The clinic will inform you of the date and time the procedure will take place and the time the donor should arrive at the clinic.

In most situations, the retrieval will take place in a sterile, surgical room within the fertility clinic or in a nearby hospital. Donors are usually given IV sedation or a light, general anesthesia for the procedure. The retrieval process is usually performed through the vagina using an ultrasound guided needle to aspirate the follicles. The process usually takes approximately 20-30 minutes. Although, donors will be required to remain at the clinic for at least one hour after the completion of the retrieval procedure to be monitored in case of complications.

Most of the time the fertility physician will prescribe antibiotics for the donor to lessen the risk of infection. Many physicians will also require the donor to follow up with a physician seven - ten days following the retrieval to be sure that the donor is healing well.

After the follicles are aspirated they will be examined and mixed with the intended father or a donors sperm. They are then incubated for 3 - 5 days to allow fertilization to occur. Then the embryos will be placed in the intended mother or a surrogates uterus via invitro fertilization.
